I'm delighted to announce that the Makeability Lab has received its first-ever NIH grant entitled AI-Assisted Vision: Scene-Aware Augmented Reality Systems to Support Low Vision People in Activities of Daily Living through the joint NSF/NIH "Smart Health and Biomedical Research in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Data Science (SCH)." This project is led by Assistant Professor Yuhang Zhao at the University of Wisconsin with Co-PIs me, Assistant Professor Yapeng Tian at the University of Dallas Texas, and Assistant Professor Sanbrita Mondal in Opthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Wisconsin.
