We were honored to host Assistant Professor Katya Cherukumilli for a lab visit. Dr. Cherukumilli is an Assistant Professor in HCDE and director of the Safe Water Equity & Longevity Lab (SWELL). Her research is dedicated to designing and deploying equitable technologies to monitor and improve drinking water quality across the world, including in the US.
We were awestruck by Dr. Cherukumilli's enthusiasm and the diversity of projects she's undertaken in water quality—from building new wireless biosensors to monitor lead levels in school water supplies to fieldwork of groundwater deluoridation technology in India, Kenya, and Tanzania.
Thanks Dr. Cherukumilli for the visit. You can read more about her lab here (including an application form for interested students!).
