AI-Assisted Vision Mini-Workshop

I was delighted to take part in the AI-Assisted Vision Mini-Workshop led and organized by Professor Yuhang Zhao at the University of Washington as part of our new NIH grant entitled "AI-Assisted Vision: Scene-Aware AR Systems to Support People with Low Vision in Activities of Daily Living" with Professor Zhao along with me, Professor Yapeng Tian (UT-Dallas), and Dr. Sanbrita Mondal (UWisc).

I was most impressed by the number of blind and low vision community members that attended and shared their lived experiences and insights as well as the presentations by the PhD students working in this space.

It was also delightful to finally meet Professor Tian in person and to run around beautiful Madison (which is on an isthmus and surrounded by water just like Seattle).
